Governor Deval Patrick invited the casino industry to come to Massachusetts yesterday in a proposal that would create over 10,000 jobs and generate $2,000,000,000 in economic activity from 3 resort-style casinos.

Patrick said the financial windfall would outweigh the social ills of gambling. The additional revenue, would be directed toward rebuilding the state's roads and bridges.

House Speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi, remains skeptical of the new proposal.
